IMO’s team of optometrists at the festival were particularly surprised to find that almost all of the children who had refractive problems or amblyopia had never had an eye test before and did not use any form of optical correction. This is particularly concerning, when one considers that after the age of 7 it is more difficult to correct vision defects. IMO’s stand also offered children the chance to find out about how the eye works through a model that showed the main parts of the organ.
