The mission of the IMO Foundation is to improve people’s vision and quality of life through research, teaching, prevention and social projects.
This is made possible thanks to the staff of the Instituto de Microcirugía Ocular (IMO), who bring their enthusiasm and experience, and other volunteers, collaborators and sponsors who support the project.
The IMO Foundation’s vision is to contribute to the advancement of ophthalmology and the improvement of society.
In the field of research, this vision is aimed at applying treatments that offer solutions to eye pathologies that have not yet been cured; in the field of teaching, the desire is to promote scientific collaboration and the training of new generations of ophthalmologists; in the field of social action, our objective is to reach those who are at risk of social exclusion in order to provide them with the necessary ophthalmological care; and finally, the great challenge of the IMO Foundation is to promulgate a health model that gives greater importance to prevention, with emphasis on groups at special ophthalmological risk.
The Foundation’s values stem from the spirit of the IMO, which promoted its creation in 2010 and continues to sustain its work on a daily basis:
- Respect for patients and their visual health
- Ethical excellence and transparency
- Expertise and professionalism
